Sunday Night Football

In 2013, I served as Art Director on NBC’s Sunday Night Football show open, a high-profile broadcast sequence that marked Carrie Underwood’s debut as the face of the franchise, replacing Faith Hill.

Working with the production company, I helped define the visual look and feel of the film before moving on to the post production phase, where I collaborated closely with the visual effects studio to ensure design and compositing came seamlessly together. The project combined live stage production, lighting, and practical crowd elements with green screen shoots of NFL players and large-scale CG stadium environments.

The 1:50 open was crafted editorially in New York, balancing live performance with modular gameplay pods for weekly highlight updates. The result was a spectacle that set the tone for each broadcast, celebrated the arrival of Carrie Underwood, and earned recognition with a Sports Emmy Award for Art Direction.
