Living for Likes
I directed, shot, edited, and designed Living for Likes in the fall of 2015 as a commentary on the curated realities of social media. The film follows a young woman traveling alone in Puerto Rico, capturing the difference between her lived experience and the carefully polished version she presents online.
Juxtaposing quiet, solitary moments with bright, cheerful posts, the film reflects on how easy it is to believe we’re the only ones not living a perfect life. By peeling back the layers of digital presentation, it aims to remind viewers that struggle and imperfection are universal, and that the images we compare ourselves to often hide a more complex truth.
